The Portugal in Synch project aims to bring together the Portuguese music sector with the audiovisual production eco-system, leading to a better working knowledge and mutual understanding of each sector’s workflows and needs. For this Music in Advertising session, Portugal in Synch invites music supervisors from London & NYC active in placing music in advertising.

Lyrics are often reproduced online without permission, but some companies are starting to monetise this usage. How can lyricists and their publishers actually benefit from this digital new frontier and how are lyrics finally being monetised properly?
15:00 – Portugal in Synch – Music Publishers’ Roundtable
This year’s music publisher’s roundtable addresses the current needs of European music publishers, in the context of new possibilities for publisher support. In countries like Canada and France, publishers receive state support for their important activities in music. In other countries publishers are virtually non-existent or largely underrated players. The Portugal in Synch project aims to bring together the Portuguese music sector with the audiovisual production eco-system, leading to a better working knowledge and mutual understanding of each sector’s workflows and needs. For this Music in Film session, Portugal in Synch invites music supervisors working in film to present their perspectives on how more Portuguese and European music can effectively be synched.

From Portugal to Finland, the European realities of video game production and placing music in games differs greatly across our continent. Portugal in Synch invites video game professionals from both countries to address these rapidly-changing realities.
